Anglican Diocese of Sekondi Holds Clergy Conference
A Clergy conference of All Anglican Priests in the Diocese of Sekondi has been held at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew The Apostle in Sekondi. The two day conference was addressed by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt.Rev. Alexander Kobina Asmah and other Senior Priests in the Diocese.
Rt. Rev'd Alexander Asmah admonished the Priests to be business minded in order to create employment opportunities for the members and nation as a whole. He went on further to encourage them to think outside the box and harness all available entrepreneurial opportunities to foster financial growth and job creation in all the various parishes. He therefore charged the Clergy to establish a business in every parish of the Diocese and continue to pursue developmental projects started by predecessors.
The Diocesan Bishop believes that financial sufficiency will help in the evangelistic and outreach agenda of the church of God. Rt.Rev'd Asmah laid emphases on the fact that Jesus Christ learnt the trade of Joseph who was a carpenter and worked very hard to support him. He also stressed on transformation in all facets of the life of the church and that it is the Priests who can champion and make it happen.
In all about Thirty Six priests were at the conference and the conference lasted for two days at the Cathedral in Sekondi. The Priests were taken through Bible Study, Prayer sessions and brainstorming on the forward match of the Anglican Diocese of Sekondi.
